The Fulton County Commissioners met for their regular session on Thursday, September 25, 2025. Following the Pledge of Allegiance and an opening prayer, roll call was taken.
After formally approving the minutes from the previous session held on September 23, 2025, the board moved to adopt the day’s agenda as presented.
Among the items under old business, commissioners reviewed the county’s latest sales tax figures and took time to look over the Dog Warden reports for the periods ending August 16 and August 23, 2025.
A series of financial resolutions followed, beginning with the approval of various budget appropriations and transfers.
These included a $105,000 increase to cover parts for a horizontal split case pump related to the Fulton/Lucas waterline project, as well as more than $23,000 added for opioid crisis supply purchases.
The board also approved a $14,000 increase for new maintenance equipment for the purchase of a plow attachment.
An additional $20,000 was added to maintenance and repair services, reflecting ongoing building and vehicle upkeep across county departments.
Other adjustments included the movement of funds between line items, such as $10,000 redirected within the Senior Center budget and a small $200 transfer from wellness incentive funds to help cover food supplies.
In a move to modernize county operations, the board adopted an updated Human Resource Policy Manual, which went into effect immediately. This manual will serve as the official guide for all county employee policies and procedures moving forward.
One of the more notable approvals of the session was a contract with Jess Howard Electric Company to install an Automated Weather Observing System (AWOS III PT) at the Fulton County Airport. This system upgrade is expected to enhance both flight safety and data reliability for pilots using the facility.
The board wrapped up new business by approving various purchase orders and travel requests submitted by county departments before adjourning for the day.
