FULTON COUNTY COMMISSIONERS: Commissioners Hear Departmental Budget Reports

COMMISSIONERS … Fulton County Commissioners work to sign items on the agenda that have passed with their approval.

The Fulton County Commissioners held their first meeting of the week on Tuesday, November 14th. The meeting began at 9:00 a.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance and a prayer. Minutes from the November 9th meeting were approved first along with the current agenda and payment of the bills.

A review was then conducted of a certificate for cash payments for Ditch 2148-Barclay, as well as an office closure notice for the Real Estate Department in the Auditor’s Office.

The following items were then approved by commissioners.


– Resolution 2023-850 Increase & Transfer Appropriations for Various Departments.

– Resolution 2023-851 Approve Change Order #1-Final and Payment Request #2-Final to Contract 2023-99 with Griffin Pavement Striping for 2023 Pavement Marking Program on Behalf of Engineer.

– Resolution 2023-852 Approve Payment Request #1 to Contract 2023-104 with Miller Bros. Constr. for Bridge H7-2.4 Replacement.


– Resolution 2023-853 Accept Retirement Resignation of Sr. Center Employee.

– Resolution 2023-854 Approve Purchase Orders and Travel Requests.

The first hearing for Ditch 2151-Gorham Township was then held. Following discussions, commissioners moved to approve Resolution 2023-855 to continue the final hearing for Ditch 2151-Gorham Township.

The hearing is set for December 5th, 2023. With no other items to attend to the meeting was adjourned.


Commissioners then held their second meeting of the week on Thursday, November 16th. Approval of the minutes from the November 14th meeting took place first along with the current meeting’s agenda.

The following agenda items were then approved.

– Resolution 2023-858 Increase & Transfer Appropriations for Various Departments.

– Resolution 2023-859 Enter Into Contract 2023-142 with Joe and Joe Contracting for Ditch Improvement 2148-Barclay.

– Resolution 2023-860 Execute Letter of Support for Triangular Processing for Capital Funding Program.

– Resolution 2023-861 Approve Legal and Authorize Ad for Aggregate Materials on Behalf of Engineer.

– Resolution 2023-862 Approve Legal and Authorize Ad for 2024 Ditch Maintenance on Behalf of Engineer.

– Resolution 2023-863 Approve Personnel Request for Senior Center.

– Resolution 2023-864 Approve Purchase Orders and Travel Requests.

Commissioners then moved on and heard from Fulton County Clerk of Courts Tracy Zuver. Zuver spoke to commissioners and gave updates regarding the department’s budget and employees.

He went on to explain that the department has great employees and that they want to keep those employees. Zuver also spoke about inflation and salaries for the department’s employees.

Melissa Rupp from The Ohio State University’s Extension Office spoke next and gave a budget update as well. Melissa spoke about their Real Money, Real World programs that are currently going on and also gave examples of some of the progress made recently.

A budget proposal was also given for this coming year before Commissioners moved to adjourn the meeting at 9:21 a.m.
