The Fulton County Commissioners met Thursday morning, June 26, at their regular session in the Commissioners Session Room in Wauseon, where they approved several resolutions, including a significant grant agreement to support downtown revitalization in Metamora.
The board began the session with standard protocol before approving the minutes from the June 24 meeting and adopting the day’s agenda.
One of the key items of business was Resolution 2025-416, which authorizes the board president to enter into a grant agreement with the Ohio Department of Development for the PY 2024 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Target of Opportunity Program.
The grant totals $250,000 and will support improvements to three downtown Metamora buildings, located at 121 Maple Street, 121–127 West Main Street, and 239 Maple Street.
The project includes facade upgrades, roof replacements, accessibility enhancements, and other exterior improvements.
These changes are expected to benefit approximately 640 residents under the area’s Slum and Blight designation. Total project costs are estimated at $278,477, with building owners contributing $28,477.
Also approved during the session was Resolution 2025-415, which authorizes an appropriation transfer within the Fulton County Prosecutor’s Office. The office will shift $1,000 from its equipment budget to cover supply needs.
In additional business, the commissioners accepted the resignation of a senior center employee under Resolution 2025-417, and approved several purchase orders and travel requests under Resolution 2025-418.
The meeting adjourned just after 9:05 a.m., with a reminder that offices will be closed July 4 in observance of Independence Day.
