Fulton County commissioners received estimated costs for electricity for 2017.

Per the estimate, the county is expected to use 640,000 kilowatt hours (kWh) from January to May and 895,000 kWh from June to December. Total electricity costs for generation and distribution are expected to $80,000 for the first five months and $103,000 for the final seven.

The board terminated its contract with the City of Wauseon for zoning inspection services. The city is no longer able to provide the service.

The city had been performing the service since 2000, but the person responsible has retired.

The board later offered a contract to Steve Brown to perform those duties for the county. Brown does zoning inspection for Clinton Township and is amenable to $800 per month for the work.

The county will pay the Delta United Methodist Church rent for use of its facilities for the Senior Center of Delta, according to a new contract.

The agreement calls for a $300 monthly rent payment and use of the facilities for 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. The contract runs from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31, 2017.

The Fulton County Senior Center received a one-time award of $10,560.90 from the Area Office on Aging of Northwest Ohio for congregate meals. The grant can be modified or reduced by action of the AOA’s regulatory arms.

At the Nov. 17 meeting, the county received the weekly report from the Dog Warden. For the week Nov. 6-12, three dogs were picked up and three were redeemed.

The office collected $60 in redemption fees, $80 in licenses, $50 for one euthanasia and $20 in boarding fees.

The county officially terminated the agreement for specific winter road care with German Township. The board had table the motion Nov. 15 to consult with the engineer.

After those consultations, the engineer recommended terminating the contract. The original agreement was signs May 7, 2013 and covered Township Road 20 from SR 2 to CR A and CR 6 from CR A to the Williams County line.

The board took similar action with Franklin Township for TR JK from CR 23 to its western terminus and TR H from CR 24 to its westerly terminus.
