Fulton County OKs Award Lyons Paving Project; Covers Flu Shots For Employees

The Fulton County Board of Commissioners approved the following resolutions:

The board awarded the bid for resurfacing Maple Street in Lyons to Geddis Paving and Excavating.

The winning bid was for $42,505.


The board approved two delinquent accounts from Metamora for the Northeast Water System and placing the customers’ accounts on the property tax list. The totals respectively including charges, late fees and penalties and a processing fee are: $218.89 and $372.51.

The board approved advertising for bids for snow removal for county properties.

The deadline is 4 p.m., Monday, Oct. 3 at the commissioners’ offices on Fulton Street in Wauseon. Details can be downloaded from www.fultoncountyoh.com or by contacting the clerk at 419-337-9255, ext. 1612.


Fulton County employees and dependents will get a free flu shot this year. The county board has decided to foot the bill at $45 per injection. Dependents and spouses must be with the employee to get the free shots.

The county will pay for shots not covered by the employee’s health insurance.

The Fulton County Health Department will host walk-in clinic hours for residents who would like a flu shot. The cost is $45 for Quadrivalent vaccine and $60 for high-dose flu vaccine for adults 65 and older.

The clinic at 606 S. Shoop, will offer the following hours:


Adults by appointment: 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Oct. 3 and 9 a.m. to noon and 2-5 p.m. Wednesdays Oct. 5-26. Call 419-337-0915 to make an appointment.
Walk-in for adults: Noon to 6 p.m., Sept. 22 and 9 a.m. to noon and 2-5 p.m. Sept. 29.

Walk-in for adults at other locations:

Archbold: 1-3 p.m., Sept. 27, Fairlawn Haven Wyse Commons
St. Caspar Church: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Oct. 4, Road to Wellness
Wauseon: 10 a.m. to noon, Oct. 20, Fulton County Senior Center
Northwest State Community College: 10:30 a.m. to noon, Nov. 3.
Families: 2-6 p.m. Oct. 13 and 27. Call 419-337-0915 to make an appointment.
Community Walk-in:
Delta: 2-5:30 p.m. Oct. 11, Delta Open Door, 104 Monroe St.
Archbold: 2-5:30 p.m. Oct. 13, Archbold Library, 205 Stryker St.
Fayette: 2-5:30 p.m. Oct. 18, Family Life Center, 305 E. Main St.
Lyons: 2-5:30 p.m. Oct. 25, Fire Station, West Morenci St.
Swanton: 2-5:30 p.m. Oct. 27, Public Library, 305 Chestnut St.
Metamora: 2-5:30 p.m. Nov. 1, Evergreen Community Library, 253 Maple St.

Fifteen dogs were brought to the Fulton County Dog Pound the week of Sept. 3. Of those, 12 were redeemed.

Fees collected were $140.
