The Fulton County Republican Central Committee met on Thursday, February 4, 2016 to consider endorsements in the following contested races. These are the candidates who were endorsed for the March 15, 2016 Primary:
State Representative 47th House District: Derek Merrin
State Central Committeewoman 2nd Senate District: Dee Talmage
State Central Committeeman 2nd Senate District: Mark Wagoner
State Central Committeewoman 1st Senate District: Cheryl Buckland
County Commissioner (term 01/03/2017): Jon Rupp
Clerk of Courts: Tracy Zuver
Fulton Township Republican Committeeman: John Weber
Mrs. Sandra Barber, Chair of the Fulton County Republican Committee stated that candidates had to have a 2/3 majority vote of the members before an endorsement would be granted. She also stated that groups calling themselves “Republican PACs” have circulated endorsements in numerous Northwest Ohio counties. The endorsements are claimed by some candidates for State Central Committee positions. These groups have no connection with the county party and we are not aware of any local members.
