Gerda Sonnenberg (1955 – 2024)

FAYETTE – Gerda Sonnenberg, age 69, of Fayette, died Saturday, November 16, 2024, at ProMedica Toledo Hospital.

She was born in Giessen, Germany on October 31, 1955. On October 5, 1985, she married Michael Joe Sonnenberg in Giessen, Germany, and he preceded her in death on March 23, 2023.

Gerda was a homemaker all her life. She loved to take care of her children and grandchildren and keeping a meticulous home. Gerda was a very friendly person and would do anything she could for anyone.


Left to cherish her memory are her children, Michael Rayburn, Diana (Robert) Somerlott, and Angela Clark; grandchildren, William Webster, Nicole Somerlott, Jacoby Clark, Dillian Somerlott, and Kortney Somerlott; brothers, Wolfgang and Eicke Stein; and sister, Eva Stein.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter in infancy, Pamela Sonnenberg; and a son-in-law, Jacob Clark.

Cremation has taken place and there will be no services.

The Eagle-Marry Funeral Home in Fayette is assisting the family with arrangements.
