GIRLS GOLF: Archbold, Montpelier Girls Claim Division II Sectional Titles

WAUSEON (September 23, 2025) – Archbold and Montpelier both emerged as Division II girls’ sectional champions, as the Bluestreaks and Locos, along with Wauseon, have qualified their respective teams for next week’s district tournament at Sycamore Springs Golf Course in Findlay.


Coming off its fifth consecutive Northwest Ohio Athletic League title claim, Archbold won the Division III sectional tournament at Ironwood Golf Course with a 341, while Wauseon finished as runner-up with a 348, and Otsego was third with a 389, rounding out the top three teams who advanced to districts.

Brie Grime led the Streaks with a 79, followed by Payton Dominique with an 82, Ella Yoder and Brooklyn Rodriguez both shot 90s, and Makenna Bickel had a 107.

Wauseon’s Ruth Shelt claimed individual medalist honors with a 77. Other scores for the Lady Indians were Hayden Konieczka 83, Alexis Perez 94, Kali Spengler 94, and Sophia Medina 111.


Also earning their individual ticket to districts were MacKenzie Grahn of Delta with an 88, Sophie Eustace of North Central, who tallied a 90, and Aubree Perdew of Delta with a 93.

In the Division II sectional at Auglaize Golf Club, Montpelier claimed the team championship with a 373 score, followed by Napoleon (381) and Wayne Trace (383). All three teams qualified for districts.

Brynn Richmond led the Locos with an 88. Hannah Martin, Neriah Thorp, and Myleigh Dye each shot 95s, and Lillian Mahan tallied a 119 score.

On Monday, September 22, Bryan competed in the Division I sectional at Eagles’ Landing Golf Club as the Golden Bears finished ninth with a 393 score.


Josey Arnold led Bryan with a 93, followed by Kenzie Blevins (98), Claire Struble (98), and Eden Alyanakian (104). Arnold just missed qualifying individually for districts, losing in a one-hole playoff.
