(Born In Wauseon, Ohio)

With the wind at her tail, Gloria Jean (Riter) Humphrey, 80, of Bryan, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 19, 2024, at Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice Center, Defiance, Ohio.

She joined her beloved husband Jerry Humphrey of 25 years in eternal rest. She was mother of Jeffrey L. (Diana) Woods, Barry L. (Beth Anne) Woods, and Rebecca L. (Mike) Winkler; grandmother of Jeffrey Jr., Joshua, and Jessica (Woods) Crawford, Derek and Matthew Woods, Macy Winkler; great grandmother to eight beautiful great grandchildren.

Gloria is survived by loving sisters Carol (Ron) Faber, Shirley (Riter) Welsh and sister-in-law Cindy Riter. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who cared for her.  She was preceded in death by her brother, Gary Riter.

Born on October 30, 1943, to Leslie and Marjorie Riter in Wauseon Ohio, she remained an Ohio resident for her entire life. Gloria lived a full life and enjoyed many things over her years.

She was a very creative woman with talent as an interior and exterior designer, she had a fascination for technology, she was a crafter who loved making unique cards for family and friends, she was a licensed pilot who enjoyed “puttering around the skies” in her Cessna, and she was one who always looked forward to the next adventure.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, August 3, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 206 North Lynn Street, Bryan, with Pastor Eric Dailey officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends two hours prior to the service, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Saturday. Private interment will be made in Shiffler Cemetery.

Memorials can be made to Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice Center, Defiance, Ohio, or Williams County Humane Society.
