August 15, 2024No Comments2 Mins Read

(PRESS RELEASE) H.O.0.V.E.S., a non—profit organization dedicated to the healing power of equine-assisted services for veterans and at—risk populations, is proud to host the Sunrise Breakfast for Suicide Prevention on Friday, September 8, 2024, from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM. The event will take place at the Maumee Bay Lodge & Conference Center in Oregon, OH.

This special event is held in recognition of National Suicide Prevention Month and aims to bring the community together to raise awareness about suicide prevention, particularly among veterans

and first responders.

As an organization that has witnessed firsthand the transformative power of equine services, H.O.O.V.E.S. is committed to providing support and hope to those struggling with mental health challenges.

The morning will begin with a peaceful sunrise breakfast, featuring a delicious buffet and beverages. Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with others who are passionate about mental health advocacy and suicide prevention.

The event will also include powerful testimonials from veterans and family members who have experienced healing through H.O.O.V.E.S.’s equine-assisted programs.

“We believe that no one should face their struggles alone,” said Amanda Held, Founder and Executive Director of H.O.O.V.E.S.

“Our Sunrise Breakfast is not just about raising awareness, but also about fostering a sense of community and support for those who need it most.”

In addition to the breakfast, the event will feature keynote speakers Nicola Licata and Brian Brase, both parents who have lost their children to suicide and Breathwork specialist Angie Corigan will lead a breathwork session to teach nervous system regulation.

Additionally, a moment of silence will be held to honor those who have lost their lives to suicide. Information on local mental health resources and support services will be available for attendees.

H.O.O.V.E.S. invites community members, local businesses, and organizations to join this important event and take a stand against suicide. The event is sponsored by the Lucas County Veteran Service Commission and provided at no-cost. However, RSVP is required.
