(PRESS RELEASE) – Springfield Township – The Toledo Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating an injury crash that occurred on November 13, 2024, at approximately 8:05 P.M. The crash occurred on State Route 2 near mile post 9 in Springfield Township, Lucas County.

Tamera Stuttle, age 50, of Mattoon, Illinois was driving a 2024 Freightliner Cascadia westbound on State Route 2. Ms. Stuttle struck the aerial lift of a utility truck which was parked in a closed construction site with the aerial lift overhead of active traffic. Inside the bucket seat of the aerial lift was Jaiden Barnes, age 19, of Massillon, Ohio. Mr. Barnes was ejected from the aerial lift.

Mr. Barnes was transported to University of Toledo Medical Center via Springfield Township EMS with serious injuries. Impaired driving does not appear to be a factor in this crash, and the crash remains under investigation.

The Patrol was assisted by Lucas County Sheriff’s Office, Holland Police Department and Springfield Township Fire & EMS.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol reminds motorists to always wear safety belts, and to never drive impaired or distracted.
