(PRESS RELEASE) – Calling it “one of the toughest decisions I’ve had to make” Andy Brigle has announced that he is stepping down as the Executive Director of the United Way of Williams County and his last day will be Friday November 22, 2024.
“Leading the United Way for the last 18 months has been such a rewarding experience and such an honor because I think so highly of everything that the United Way stands for”, said Brigle.
“The Board of Directors is saddened to see him go and we thank him for his diligent presence throughout our county”, the Board said in the press release.
Andy’s decision comes from personal financial demands and stress of not receiving employer funded healthcare; returning to radio will alleviate this burden.
“I am so proud of all the great work that has been done by so many people!”, added Brigle.
“First, I would like to thank Amy Kirby who was as important, if not more important, than me, to the success that the United Way is seeing right now. She was the heart and soul of the operation.”
“Second, I would like to thank the agencies that we serve. These agencies are showing the way in helping thousands of people across NW Ohio.”
“Also, a big thank you to the board for taking a chance on me 18 months ago. I won’t forget the feeling when I was told I had the job and it’s because of you I had that.”
“And finally, I want to thank our incredible donors. Whether it’s a business or corporation, industry running a workplace campaign, an individual or group coming to our events, or just a person donating $1 or more. You are what makes the United Way what it is and what it will continue to be.”
“The community is the main reason why we were able to raise $330,000 last year and help start the We Care Cabinet in all 7 local school districts in the county. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
Brigle will be going back to B Rock 100.9 and Q 96.5 in a full-time role selling advertising and continuing to do full-time play by play for sports.
He also said he’d continue to be active in the non-profit world as he remains on the board for Bloom Kids Closet and he will continue to help agencies that fall under the United Way Umbrella.
“Also, if you need a volunteer for your organization, let me know. I am here to serve Williams County. Thank you and remember…. United Is The Way”, Brigle closed.
“The Board is delighted to welcome back Amy Kirby as the Interim Executive Director”, the press release added.
“With her knowledge and experience we can assure you that United Way remains active and stable in assisting our local community partners.”

“Amy steps into this role with complete confidence and backing from the Board of Directors and we are excited to see how she will further shape this organization.”
