(December 13th, 2014) – WEST UNITY: In a junior varsity contest, the Cadets of Hilltop played host to the Ayersville Pilots. The match-up was a tough one for Hilltop, though, as the Cadets dropped the game 66-36.

The hometown Cadets fell behind early, trailing 17-11 at the end of the first period. It was the second quarter, however, that did the Hilltop boys in. Ayersville outscored them 22-6 in that span, creating a 22 point cushion between the two teams at the half. The Cadets kept pace with the Pilots in the third quarter, as each side scored 12 points. The final stanza belonged to Ayersville, though, as they put up 8 more points than Hilltop to earn the thirty point victory.

Kristian Grapengeter led the Cadets in scoring. The 5’10” freshman offered 10 points in the losing effort.
