Hilltop Lady Cadets Hold Off The Holgate Lady Tigers By A Run

WEST UNITY – The Hilltop Lady Cadets ran their season record to 5-2 with a 6-5 win at home over Holgate on April 9.

The Lady Tigers jumped out to a 2-0 lead before Hilltop took their first swings. The hometown girls answered back by taking advantage of Holgate errors to post three in the home half of the first, then added runs in the second, third and fourth innings to secure the win.
Kacie Hodson picked up the win by allowing 5 runs, 2 earned on 8 hits and a walk, fanning 6.

Taylor Batt had a double and a single for Hilltop, while Hannah Bleikamp had an RBI double. Brittany Mocherman had an RBI single, Leah Thompson had a base hit, and Sidney Schmitt and Shayla Coffman each drove in a run.
