(September 15th, 2014)-WEST UNITY: Hosting Evergreen on Monday, the Lady Cadets of Hilltop knew they had a fight on their hands against the VIkings. That knowledge wasn’t enough, however, as Evergreen left West Unity with a win. in straight sets.
Hilltop got off to a sluggish start, dropping the first set 9-25. They picked up the intensity in games 2 and 3. Still, the Lady Cadets couldn’t keep pace with Evergreen. The girls of Hilltop fought hard in the second set, but were defeated by the Lady Vikings 18-25. The third set went similarly, as the Cadets fell 17-25.
Ariana Brown had a big day at the net for Hilltop, recording 6 kills, 4 blocks, and an assist. Fellow Cadet Veronica Roth also had 6 kills, also making 6 digs, a block, and an ace. Teammate Allie Schmitt was responsible for 10 digs and 3 kills herself. The Lady Cadet offense was set in motion by Felicity Jackson, who served up 7 assists along with 3 digs, a kill, and an ace.
