Hilltop Winter Awards Held March 17th and 18th

SPECIAL PRESENTATION – SPECIAL EVENING …Hilltop Head Coach Aaron Schmidt and Hannah Bleikamp

Hilltop High School paid honors to their boys’ and girls’ basketball programs, as well as the cheerleading squad that cheered them on over the winter 2013-14 campaign. On March 17, the Lady Cadets were honored in a special ceremony that saw an emotional Hannah Bleikamp being presented the game ball from the Antwerp contest where she eclipsed the 1,000-point mark in her Varsity career.

Those recognized with special awards included Emily Armbruster (BBC Scholar Athlete, All-BBC Second Team, All-District 7 Honorable Mention and Defensive Co-MVP Award), Hannah Bleikamp (BBC Scholar Athlete, All-BBC First Team, All-District 7 First Team, All-Northwest District Third Team, Free Throw Ladder Award and the Coach’s Award), Kailey Creamer (BBC Scholar Athlete, All-BBC Honorable Mention, Academic All-District 7 and Defensive Co-MVP Award), LeAnn Joost (BBC Scholar Athlete, All-BBC Honorable Mention and All-District 7 Honorable Mention), Kayla Settlemire (BBC Scholar Athlete), and Bailey Funkhouser (Most Improved Award).

On March 18, it was the boys’ teams and the cheerleaders taking the stage for a season worthy of recognition. Autumn Jermeay took the cheerleading Spirit Award, and Emily Trisel was presented the Captain’s Award. Megan Trent won the Coach’s Award, and Jasmine Haynes was named Most Improved. Being named BBC Scholar Athletes were Gabie Johnson, Hannah Carothers, and Breanna Franks who is not pictured.

Being recognized from the boys’ hoops team were Quinn Smith (Offensive MVP, All-BBC Second Team and All-District 7 Honorable Mention), Jalen Towers (BBC Scholar Athlete), Tim Maneval (All-BBC Honorable Mention, Most Improved Award and Defensive MVP Award) and Miklo Abner (Coach’s Award).
