PETTISVILLE – For two periods, the Pettisville Lady Blackbirds held sway over the Holgate Tigers, but a late rally changed everything on January 29. A 17-10 fourth quarter run by Holgate wiped out a seven-point deficit, and forced the Ladybirds into an overtime situation. The visitors found an extra point in the extra frame, all that was needed to come away with a 53-52 win.
Mikala Avina hit for a team-high 16 for the 10-7 Lady Blackbirds, with Lauren Hostetler getting 14 points and Kate Kauffman 9. Dana Fricke was held to 7 points, with Audra Klopfenstein adding 4 points and Jordyn Pursel 2.
