The Holiday City Planning Commission met on January, 15, 2026, to discuss zoning updates as they near completion for their project.
The discussion focused on clarifying zoning districts, permitted uses, and potential revisions to the village zoning handbook. In attendance: Mayor Pam Clark, Administrator Blair Campbell, and Council members Ryan Henricks and Brooke Knepper.
Several zoning categories were reviewed, including commercial, industrial, and public land districts. Officials considered how certain business uses are classified within existing zoning designations, particularly special and conditional uses.
Industrial zoning was also addressed, with talk centered on distinguishing between R1, R2, and R3 zones. The importance of using clarifying zoning language was focused on. Land-use requirements, such as minimum acreage, were clearly defined.
Public land zoning was another topic of discussion. Uses associated with public land, such as village facilities and park areas, were discussed for the Holiday City Visitor’s Bureau.
The meeting concluded with remarks from Mayor Pam Clark that requested each member to come up with a list of questions to send to their legal team. Questions and concerns will be brought to their lawyer as they near the finish line of outlining the Holiday City Zoning Handbook.
The meeting adjourned at 6:20 p.m.
