WAUSEON MAY 1, 2014 – The Rossford Bulldogs scored five fourth inning runs and held off the
Indians 6-5 in non league action Thursday afternoon.
Faith Hicks drove in the first Wauseon run with a double in the first inning as the Indians took an early 1-0 lead.
K. Swope of Rossford belted a homerun in the commanding fourth inning and added three RBI.
Alex Whipple made it a 5-2 game with a homer of her own in the bottom of the fourth. The Indians outscored
Rossford 3-1 the rest of the way, but they came up one run short.
Brianna Co blentz connected for a double while Tiffany King had a single for the Indians. Whipple, King and
Hicks contributed the RBI during the contest.
Brooke Whipple and Smantha Norman shared the pitching duties. Whipple allowed three runs on five hits and struck
out three in 3.1 innings and Norman came on and allowed one run on two hits and sruck out three over 3.2 innings.
