WAUSEON May 1, 2014 – The Wauseon Indians tennis team gained two victories in action recently when they
defeated Archbold and Ayersville.
Against the Streaks, singles wins were recorded by Tyler Shipley 6-3, 6-4; Alex Wenger won in three sets 4-6, 6-3, 6-3;
Levi Rees won in third singles 6-2, 6-1.
In doubles action Fernando Canales and Zach Spadafore were three set winners with scores of 6-0. 6-7(5-7), 6-0.
Losing in doubles action were Colin Tedrow and Derek Zimmerman with scores of 6-2, 6-3.
Against the Pilots, the abbreviated match saw the Indians gain a 5-0 win.
Winning in singles play were Alex Wenger, Levi Rees and Andrew Kohls. The trio all won in straight sets with indentical
scores of 6-0.
The Indians dominated in doubles action as well as Tony Reyes and Taylor Wilcoxon were 6-0, 6-1 winners and Aaron Spieles
and Brandon Bernarth shut out their opponents in second doubles 6-0,, 6-0.
