Indians split with Bryan, Tinora

May 7, 2014 – The Wauseon softball team split a pair of games recently against NWOAL rival Bryan and a non league contest against Tinora.
The Indians defeated the Golden Bears 3-2 in an exciting matchup that saw the winners held to just four hits. Bryan belted 12 hits but could only bring two runs to the plate.
The Wauseon RBI came from Tiffany King, Alex Whipple and Hayley Chamberlain.
Samantha Norman pitched the complete game win giving up the 12 hits and striking out two Golden Bear batters.
Against Tinora it again was a one run difference, only this time the Indians fell on the short end of the scoreboard by the score of 7-6.
The Tribe put together 10 hits including: three by Faith Hicks, two by Brianna Coblentz and one each by Tiffany King, Ashley Smith, Brooke Whipple, Hayley Chamberlain and Jordan Sloan. Coblentz led Wauseon with two RBI.
Brooke Whipple and Samantha Norman shared pitching duties. Whipple pitched five innings allowing five hits and striking out two. Norman pitched the final inning allowing two hits and striking while striking out one.
