Iris I. McCain, age 78, of Montpelier, passed away on Saturday March 30, 2013 at Bryan Care & Rehabilitation Center in Bryan. She was born on February 6, 1935 in Providence, KY to the late Alfred and Corla (McCann) Newman. She graduated from Providence High School in 1953.

She loved to quilt blankets for family and friends in her free time.

Iris leaves behind two children, Robert (Tennille) McCain of Kunkle, OH and Linda (Timothy) Hogan of Saginaw, MI, eight grandchildren, other family members and friends.

In addition to her parents, Iris was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Boyd McCain, son, Bruce McCain, and eight siblings.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday April 3, 2013 from 3-7 pm at Thompson Funeral Home in Montpelier.
