Albert W. Heaton (1930-2013)

Albert W. “Bud” Heaton, 82 of Montpelier died Sunday Evening, March 31st 2013 at the Community Hospitals and Wellness Center in Bryan. He was born on July 4th 1930 in Ponca, Nebraska to William W. and Edna M. (McCarthy) Heaton. On September 6th 1984 he married Nora J. Cogswell in Bridgewater Township.

In 1991 Bud retired from Universal Industrial Products in Pioneer as the production control manager after 10 years of employment. From 1962-1982 he worked at Hayes Albion in West Unity as a production control scheduler. And from 1951-1961 he built Telecommunication Towers for Towers Construction in Sioux City, Iowa.
Bud was a member of the Wauseon Masonic Lodge #249 and was a 32 degree Mason of the Valley of Toledo Ancient accepted Scottish Rite. He also was a member of the Montpelier Moose Lodge #312 and a life member of the Williams County Saddle Club.

He is survived by his wife Nora of Montpelier, a son Danny Heaton-Vangunten of Lubbock, TX, a daughter Valerie R. Hageman of Bryan, three grandchildren Vanessa and Megan Vangunten and Jonathan Hageman and a great granddaughter Alyssa Vangunten. Bud is also survived by Nora’s children Gary G. Durham, Sherry (Tim) Fry, Karen (Ron) Jimenez, and Sandra (Jerry) Fry all of Montpelier, and seven grandchildren Chris and Derek Jimenez, Ashley, Christine, Justine, Jordan and Sydney Fry.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers George and Earl Heaton, a half brother Martin Babock, six sisters Bessie Bruneau, Irene Cleveland, Alice Allison, June Murdock, Lennie Walker, and Myrtle DeWolf.
Visitation hours for Bud will be on Wednesday, April 3rd from 2-8 pm at the Wilson-Geesey Funeral Home in Montpelier. Services will be on Thursday at 10:30 am at the funeral home with Pastor Mike Wilder to officiate. Interment will follow at Floral Grove Cemetery in Pioneer.
