(Owned Former Pop Shop In Archbold)

Jake Edward Dominique, age 72, of Archbold, passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at CHP – Defiance Inpatient Hospice.

Prior to his retirement he had been a painter and plasterer and owned the former Pop Shop in Archbold.

Jake was born in Wauseon, Ohio on October 29, 1952, the son of Robert “Ickey” and Audrey (Reed) Dominique. On August 18, 1995 he married Julie Bortz, and she survives.

He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church. He was a diehard Detroit Lions fan, loved watching Eagles and Hawks, and knew the migration patterns of the Swallows every year. Jake loved a good bonfire, watching for shooting stars.

The Pop Shop was Jake’s pride and joy, bringing smiles to all the kids after school made him the happiest. He touched countless homes with his plastering and painting skills, following in his father’s footsteps. Jake would do anything for anyone selflessly.

He is survived by his wife, Julie; children, Samantha, Jared and Wesley Kirby; grandchildren, Camden and Nolan; mother, Audrey Dominique; siblings, Joe (Deb), James “Bummer” (Susan), Jill, Jack (Kim), and Jane. He was preceded in death by his father; son, Adam Edward Dominique; brother Jeff Dominique, and sister, Jean “Tuss” Dominique.

All services will be private. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to CHP – Defiance Inpatient Hospice.

Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.grisierfh.com. Grisier Funeral Home in Archbold has been entrusted with arrangements.
