Lowell D Cummins, 77, passed away Saturday, December 07, 2024, in his home in Auburndale, Florida with his wife by his side.
Lowell D. Cummins was born on April 24, 1947, in Bryan, Ohio to Buclair M Cummins and Dorothy L (Rager) Cummins of Alvordton, Ohio.
He grew up on the family farm in Alvordton and graduated from Hilltop High SchooI in West Unity, Ohio, in 1965.
After high school he worked at Mohawk Tool and General Tire along with helping on the family farm. In 1965 he joined the Army Reserves, serving eight years.
In June of 1971, he married Linda Smith and together they celebrated 53 years of marriage. With his wife by his side, he became a full-time grain and livestock producer. In 1988 they moved to Pioneer, Ohio and expanded their livestock operation. In 2013 he retired from active farming and moved to Florida.
Lowell was a volunteer firefighter serving 16 years in the Alvordton Township Department and 12 years in the Kunkle Madison Township Department.
Lowell also served on the Williams County SWCD board, the Montpelier CHWC Hospital board, and the Clay Unity Church board. Lowell was a member of the Clay United Methodist Church prior to joining the Pioneer Church of the Nazarene.
Lowell is survived by his wife Linda, Two Sons: Kevin and Kelly (Oyer) of Alvordton, and Keith and Kay (Garrison) of Adrian, Michigan. Five Grandchildren, Jessica (Garret) Frantom of Pioneer, Michael (fiancé Shailyn Bohner) Alvordton, Samantha Cummins a student at MSU, Calvin Cummins, Adrian and Vivian Cummins, Adrian and a great grandbaby due in June, brother, Marlin Cummins, Alvordton, brother-in-law, Dana Smith, Pioneer, brother and sister-In-law, Rich and Rhonda Grine of Winter Haven, Florida.
Lowell is preceded by his parents, Sisters-in-law, Mary Cummins and Eloise Smith, brother-in-law, Larry Smith and an infant grandson.
Final disposition is by cremation at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Winter Haven, FL. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Pioneer Nazarene Church in Pioneer, Ohio.
