James “Jim” Hemminger, Jr. (1957-2021)

James “Jim” C. Hemminger, Jr., 63, of Montpelier passed away Tuesday evening, July 13, 2021 at his home. He was born on August 12, 1957 in Oregon, Ohio to James C. and Ruth Ann (Burns)  Hemminger, Sr.

Jim graduated from Clay High School in Oregon.  He served his country in the United States Air Force in Las Vegas for 6 years, working on airplanes.  On May 15, 2021 he married Mindi M. Wysong as she survives.

Jim was a mechanic at Spangler Candy Company for 37 years before retiring in 2019. At one time he had a home repair business, Hemminger Home Repair, for nearly 15 years. Jim loved being on the lake, on a pontoon and sailboats.

He is survived by his wife Mindi; son James (Misty) Hemminger, III of Montpelier; step children Jenna (Alesha) Miller, Marcus (Catherine) Elmer, Michael (Kayla) Elmer, Jessica (Jen) Goodpaster, Raiann (Benji) Ussery and Tara Lemmon; twelve grandchildren and four great grandchildren; brothers Chip Hemminger of Curtice, Ohio and Tim (Barb) Hemminger of Perrysburg.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Linda Hemminger and brother Gary Hemminger.


At this time there will be no services for Jim.

Memorial contributions may be given to the family or the American Cancer Society. Condolences can be left for the family at www.thethompsonfuneralhome.com
