Jerieanne de Rȏth, age 65, of Defiance and recently of Maumee, passed away at Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice in Defiance on Thursday, September 19, 2024.
She was born in Defiance, Ohio on April 14, 1959 to the late Gerardus C. de Rȏth and Marjorie (Ayers) de Rȏth.
Jerieanne graduated from Defiance High School and later attended Defiance College where she received her bachelor’s degree in communications. Several years later she married Fred Leyh, and he survives.
Her work career in Boyne City and Traverse City, Michigan included several places like Fred Meyer Jewelers, Van Drie Home Furnishings, 4 Front Credit Union and Cygnus Inc.
Most recently Jerieanne served as a customer service advocate for JC Prime Insurance in Waterville, OH. In her early years, she was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Defiance, where she was baptized as a youth.
Jerieanne had a love for music that encompassed everything from hard rock to country music. She was a talented song writer and was blessed with the gift of crafting, which she broadened to include her wire wrapping jewelry hobby.
Jerieanne is survived by her sister, Suzanne de Rȏth of Wauseon; lifelong friends, Catherine Mikula, Randy and Anne Sabo and many other close friends she established over the years.
In honoring Jerieanne’s wishes there will be no public services, and she will be placed at rest next to her parents at Riverview Memory Gardens in Defiance.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Barnes Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 5825 St Hwy 109 in Delta.
