The Williams County Mayor’s Association met on Wednesday, September 18th at 6:30 pm at Studio 34 in Edgerton.
In attendance were Edgerton Mayor Bob Day, Edon Mayor Duane Thiel, Holiday City Mayor Pamela Clark, West Unity Mayor Don Leu, Montpelier Mayor Steve Yagelski, Pioneer Mayor Ed Kingston, Blakeslee Mayor Eric Jenkins, Stryker Mayor Joey Beck, Bryan Mayor Carrie Schlade was absent.
Also joining the meeting was fiscal officer Denise Knecht, guest speaker author and motivational speaker Brock Mealer, and an audience of community members.
Bob Day started the meeting with a prayer and Denise Knecht handled roll call then the members headed up to grab a plate of food and “Bob Day’s special Mayor dessert”
The meeting started by approving the minutes from the May 15th meeting—motion to approve by Yagelski and seconded by Thiel.
Financial updates were approved by Beck and seconded by Kidston. No old business to discuss and for new business the motion was put on the floor to raise the annual dues from $300 to $400 the motion was passed by Kidston and seconded by Beck.
Day introduced guest speaker Brock Mealer. Mealer talked about his newly released book titled “Beyond 1%”.
His book is about unleashing your potential against all odds. Brock was in a devastating accident in 2007 where he lost his father and his brother’s girlfriend and was faced with a 1% chance of ever walking again from his spinal cord injuries.
In his extraordinary story, his message inspires preservation, mind over matter, steps for overcoming obstacles whether physical, emotional, or mental, and unleashing your full potential.

The Williams County Mayor’s Association meeting adjourned at 7:20 pm the next meeting date is October 16th, 2024 at 6:30 pm.
