Jessie Lynn Santiago, age 30, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 1:02 A.M. on Saturday, February 23, 2013, at Hillsdale County Medical Care Facility, Hillsdale, Michigan, surrounded by her family and friends, under the loving care of Hospice of Hillsdale County. Jessie had fought a courageous five-year battle with cancer with a tremendous spirit and will to continue. She was a 2000 graduate of Edon High School and received her LPN degree from Northwest State Community College in 2005. Always putting others ahead of herself, she loved being a nurse and caring for people with her smile always present. While in high school, she was active in sports all four years. She was a proud owner of her own motorcycle and enjoyed camping, being outdoors, shopping, and taking her kids on vacation. Ohio State University sports and the Detroit Tigers were her passion. She was a true friend to all and will be greatly missed.
Jessie Lynn Santiago was born on October 25, 1982, in Bryan, Ohio, the daughter of Wilson N. and Kathy (Mick) Sheets.
Survivors include her children, Salina and Chase Santiago, of Hicksville, Ohio; her parents, Wilson N. Sheets and Kathy (Terry) Disbro, both of Edon, Ohio; two sisters, her twin, Jennie L. Reyes, of Butler, Indiana, and Jamie M. Bergman, of Edon; and five nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, John and Lucille Zimmerman, and her fiancé, Joshua Weage.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 27, 2013, from 3:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, February 28, 2013, in the Krill Funeral Home, Bryan, with Pastor John MacFarlane officiating. Interment will be in Floral Grove Cemetery, Pioneer, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to a trust fund established for her children or to Hillsdale County Hospice Care.
