Joan C. Yeager (1941 – 2017)

Joan “Joanie” C. Yeager, 75, of Pioneer passed away Friday evening at Fountain Park in Bryan. She was born on May 21, 1941 in Cleveland, Ohio to Albert G. and Lydia E. (Bumblis) Polenschat. In 1959 Joanie graduated from James Ford Rhodes High School, Cleveland. On January 13, 1962, she married Jon “Pete” S. Yeager and he survives. Joanie’s occupation was that of wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

Joanie is survived by her husband of 55 years, Pete of Pioneer; son John (Brenda) Yeager of Wrangell, Alaska five grandchildren, Emily, Laren, Michael, Connor and Brian; one sister Jeanette C. Witteman of North Fort Meyers, Florida; and one nephew Henry (Pam) Witteman of Robbinsville, North Carolina.

She was preceded in death by her parents and son James “Jim” Scott Yeager on April 27, 1991.

Visitation for Joanie will be on Thursday, February 2nd from 4-8pm at the Lake View United Brethren Church in Camden, Michigan. Services will be on Friday at 11am at the church with Pastor Stephen Smith to officiate. Interment will follow at Floral Grove Cemetery in Pioneer.

Memorial contributions may be given to Back to the Wild or Pioneer Public Library. Condolences can be left at www.thethompsonfuneralhome.com
