John H. Malosh, Sr. (1951-2013)

OBIT - MALOSH - WEBJohn H. Malosh Sr., age 61, of Delta, passed away at his home late Thursday evening, September 26, 2013 with his loving family by his side.  He was born in Toledo on November 15, 1951 to the late Sam Malosh and Betty (Huber) Malosh.  John attended Sylvania High School in the late 1960’s.  On November 2, 1986 he married Cheryl Rumsey and she survives.  John worked as stationary steam engineer at the powerhouse for the former Medical College of Ohio now University of Toledo Medical Center. He enjoyed camping, riding his Harley, having and raising border collies and most of all spending time with his family.  John was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose – Sylvania Lodge #1579 and the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Sylvania.  In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his sons, John H. Malosh Jr and Kenneth D. Malosh; daughter, Penny J. Malosh and sisters, Anna Rank, Peggy DeWese, Betty M. Malosh, Pat Beckwigh and Viola Bundy.  He is survived by his wife Cheryl; daughter, Crystal Malosh of Delta; brothers, Joe (Jesse) Malosh of Manton, MI, Sam (Virginia) Malosh of Oklahoma and Ralph Carter of Delta; sister, Carol Harlow of Toledo, grandchildren, Jacob, Jody, Janey, Caleb, Seth and Bailey and special nephew, Sam Rank.  Friends will be received on Monday, September 30, 2013 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM and 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Barnes Funeral Chapel, 5825 St Hwy 109, Delta, Ohio 43515.  A memorial service celebrating John’s life will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, those wishing a show of sympathy are asked to consider contributions to the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 5909 W. Sylvania Ave. Toledo, Ohio 43623 or a charity of the donor’s choice in John’s memory.  Online condolences may be sent to the family through our website at www.barnesfuneralchapel.com.
