Laura Jane Beck, 91, of Archbold, went to her heavenly home surrounded by her family at Fairlawn Haven’s Rupp Rehab Center in Archbold, Ohio, on Tuesday, April 4, 2023.
She was born October 11, 1931 to John “Encil” and Alta (Willeman) Williams. On April 7, 1951 Laura Jane married Robert J Beck, who proceeded her in death in 2013.
She accepted Christ as a teenager and spent time reading and studying her Bible. Laura Jane daily prayed for her family and others until her dying days.
Laura Jane leaves behind six children: John (Mary) Beck, Diann (Charles) Rowe, both of Archbold; Regina (Randy) Schweitzer, Rockingham, VA; Edward (Tory) Beck, Loveland, CO; David (Cathy) Beck, Wauseon; Daniel (Debra) Beck, Archbold. She was blessed with 14 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. In addition to her spouse and parents, Laura Jane was preceded in death by her brothers Robert, Rollin and Wayne Williams, sister Francis Schlosser, and two great grandchildren.
Laura Jane assisted her husband farming near Wauseon for 59 years. Her favorite past times included reading, jigsaw puzzles, sewing, cooking, and gardening.
Laura Jane was a charter member of North Clinton Church and taught Vacation Bible School, Sunday School, and Bible Studies for many years.
She was instrumental in having North Clinton become a drop off location for Operation Christmas Child, coordinating the project for many years.
Laura Jane served on several committees at her church along with ministering to others at the Toledo Rescue Mission, Maumee Youth Camp, and Migrant Camp Ministries.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 22 from 10-11 am at North Clinton Church followed by a memorial service at 11:15 am. The burial is private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to North Clinton Church, earmarked “Missions”, or to Operation Christmas Child.
