SWANTON – Swanton Sports Center was the site of the NWOAL Bowling Championships on February 11, with the number one team during the season taking home the tourney title for both the boys and girls.
On the boys’ side Liberty Center rolled a 1,035 in game one and cruised to the title with 4,202 pins, 432 pins ahead of second place Wauseon (3,770).
Wauseon’s Ryan Marks tied the top spot individually with a 656 series while Delta’s Brody Waugh was close behind in third with a 654.
Also in the top ten were Issac Stoy (Bryan) who fired a 643, Dakota Brandeberry (Bryan) posted a 628, and Conner Williams (Swanton) garnered a 624.
For the girls, regular season champion Wauseon had the top three bowlers in the overall standings as they knocked down 3,745 pins for the championship.
Kymberlee Yocom took the top spot with a 655 while fellow Indians Jayde Ramos (617) and Kendal Horner (597) were second and third, respectively.
Haylie Federspiel (Bryan) grabbed fourth by rolling a 545, Danielle Carr (Wauseon) tallied a 498 to finish seventh, Ciarra Flickinger (Delta) took ninth with a 497 and Lexi Brown (Delta) rounded out the top ten with a 493.
The boys and girls will travel to River City Bowl-A-Way in Napoleon this week for Division II sectionals except for the Bryan girls who will be at the Division I sectionals in Minster on February 23.
