LIBERTY CENTER – The Fayette Eagles forgot one of Coach Todd Mitchell’s basics on February 2…finish strong. After battling back to take a 29-26 lead going into the fourth, the Eagles let up and allowed the Liberty Center Tigers back into the game, a kindness that the hometown boys rudely repaid with a 40-37 trumping of their visitors.
Cole Burkholder led all scorers with 18 points for the 14-3 / 7-0 Eagles. Logan Franks, Zayne Colegrove, Justin Stoltzfus and Tyler Cox each had 4 points, and Chandler Sanford added 3.
