Local Obituary: Allen Wilson (1936 – 2025)

Allen A. Wilson, age 88, of Montpelier, Ohio, passed away on Monday, January 20, 2025 at Evergreen Healthcare Center, Montpelier, where he had been a resident.

Allen owned Wilson Floor Covering and had worked at the Sinclair and Mobile stations on the Ohio Turnpike. He retired from Isaac Tire and then worked part time at Fabricare in Bryan.

He served on the Alvordton Volunteer Fire Department for several years, was a member of the Bryan and Montpelier Eagles and volunteered for the Williams County Fair Foundation and Fair Board where he was affectionately known as “Pops”. Allen enjoyed hunting, fishing- especially trips to Canada, playing cards and time with his family.


Allen A. Wilson was born on April 9, 1936, in Stanley, Ohio, the son of Allen Augustus and Thelma (Weirauch) Wilson. He married Bonny L. Knapp on June 17, 1956, in Stryker, Ohio, and she preceded him in death on May 18, 2011.

Surviving Allen is one daughter, Cindy (Bob) Buehrer, of Hudson, Indiana, and two sons, Eugene (Debra) Wilson, of Montpelier, Ohio and Jeff “Punk” Wilson of Bryan; 8 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren with another on the way; sisters, Judy Graber, of Alvordton and Sue (Darrell) Landel, of Waldron, Michigan and sister-in-law, Jean Wilson, of Pioneer.

He was preceded in death by his father, Allen A. Wilson; mother and stepfather, Thelma and Austin Orville Wilson; wife, Bonny Wilson; two sons, Duane Wilson and Scott Wilson and brothers, Larry and Robert Wilson.


Visitation will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025 from 4:00-6:00 pm in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. Services will follow at 6:00 pm with Pastor Dean Phillips officiating.
