Loren W. Moore, 89, of Bryan passed away peacefully Thursday, December 17, 2020. He was born on September 17, 1931 in rural Defiance, Ohio to Reginald and Lydia (Morhart) Moore.

Loren graduated from Bryan High School in 1949. He remained very close to his fellow 49er classmates and enjoyed their monthly luncheons. On June 22, 1952 he married Judy Ann McKarns at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Montpelier and she preceded him in death on July 15, 2016.

When he and Judy first got married, he did some dairy farming in the Bryan area.  During this time, he worked for Toledo Edison as a collector for 20 years. Loren was a part owner of Winegardner Mobile Homes in Bryan, Ohio, after it’s closing, he worked doing long-haul truck driving, and later drove short routes until the age of 75.

He was a former member of the Williams County Fair Board, and assisted in the rebuilding of the grandstand..

Loren had a great appreciation for their family farm.  He also loved to travel, read, fish, camp and driving his golf cart around seeing his neighbors.  Stoking campfires in the woods was definitely high on things that Loren enjoyed doing.  Above all he adored his two grandchildren and especially his great granddaughter Saylor.

Loren was a member of the Lick Creek Church of the Brethren and St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Montpelier.

He is survived by his daughters Patti (Harvey Nichols) Dennis and Penny Lahman of Bryan; grandchildren Jaime (Coley) Rau of Bryan and Jon Lahman of Charleston, South Carolina; and great granddaughter Saylor Rau.

Loren was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 64 years Judy, infant son Eric, and sister Wilda Haye.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Isabel for being such a wonderful caregiver in his home over the past years.

Loren will be laid to rest at a private graveside at Shiffler Cemetery in rural Bryan. Memorial contributions may be given to the Williams County Humane Society. Condolences can be left for the family at www.thethompsonfuneralhome.com
