The Lyons Village Council has approved a first reading of resolution for an income tax.

The village has been in discussion with the owners of a distressed property.

“Clean up has been discussed with the owners (Perdue family) and we are getting closer to a date for it to be cleaned up,” Village Administrator Tanya Lumbrezer said.

The village received a fee collected from a bad check that was collected by the courts.

The bad check fee of $100 is based on a check written to the C-store. The fee comes to the village because it has to pay for anything like that to be prosecuted since it happened in the village.

“We very rarely get any court costs back,” Lumbrezer said.

The village ball park has new concrete poured thanks to private donations of time and materials. The new concrete connects the ball diamonds in two places.

The was performed by Brian York, who donated all of his time. Pahls Redi Mix donated half the material and Lyons Boosters paid for remainder of the materials, Lumbrezer said.
