The Lyons Village Council held their meeting on Monday, January 8th. The meeting began at 7:00 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance.

A swearing-in took place first for new Mayor Nelson Barnhiser, along with councilor John Good and new councilor Landon Johnson. Council then voted for Julie Fenicle to remain as council president.

Council then discussed the following items. North Adrian Street property lot splits were approved by the planning committee, the village, and the Health Department.

The Christmas Tree Park went very well this past Christmas. That season saw the most trees adopted thus far. The Christmas parade also went very well and saw many participants.

An update was also given regarding the water tower, with it being stated applications are being filled out with Maumee Valley Consultants for more grants, along with help from Jim Hoops for a water/wastewater grant.

Council then moved to vote on the water/sewer increase. The last increase took place in 2014, with this increase being due to a raise in the Fulton County charge.

Lastly, council moved to accept a donation of 3/4 of an acre worth of land from Zeremba at Dunbar Ingall Park. The next meeting will take place on February 5th at 7:00 p.m.
