M. Sue Vandenbroek, age 71, of Delta, passed away unexpectedly Friday, November 15, 2019 after a routine medical procedure surrounded by family and loved ones.
She was born in Bowling Green, Ohio on July 16, 1948 to the late Floyd A. Jennings and Martha (Miller) Jennings. After graduating from Delta High School in 1966, she attended the Toledo Cosmetology School where she received her license in cosmetology. She married the late Larry Green and together were blessed with two children, Tige and Beth.
While caring for clients as a beautician, Sue’s employment history included serving in maintenance with the 180thAir Force Base and then secretary to the Colonel and later she was a secretary with Bowling Green State Highway Patrol before retiring.
Sue was an active member with the Delta Eagles #2597 serving as past local president and State Auxiliary President in 2016 and 2017. She was also an active member of the Liberty Center VFW and Delta American Legion Auxiliary.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Tige Green of Delta and Beth (Steve) Robinson of Swanton; grandchildren, Randy Rage Hilton; Rollin Haze Robinson; Hunter Sue Green; Dillon Wines; sisters Maxine Metzger; Linda (Chuck) Sharp; many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; including special friends, Sandy Graham and Lynn Frank. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ron Jennings in 2018; brother-in-law, George Metzger; great niece, Brytni Buenger and special friend, Nancy Mack in 2017.
Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 from 2:00 – 8:00 PM; with an Eagles service beginning at 7:30 PM at Barnes Funeral Chapel, 5825 St. Hwy. 109, Delta. Funeral services honoring the life of Sue will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at 11:00 AM, also at the funeral home with Pastor Don Krieger officiating.
In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to Sara’s Garden, 620 W.
