The Madison Township Trustees met for their regular meeting on May 11, 2026, to discuss future fire department upgrades and if the fire department can fill up residents’ swimming pools.
Trustees Mark Schmucker, Jen Zuver, and Fiscal Officer Deb Maneval were in attendance.
The minutes from the April 27, 2026, meeting were approved along with the payment of routine township and fire department bills. This included road maintenance, utilities, fuel, trash pickup, and annual Williams County Township Association dues.
During fire department discussion, resident Jason Marvin asked whether there were guidelines regarding filling residential swimming pools in the summer.
Trustees agreed the department may fill pools for residents and request donations to help cover fuel and time costs.
Officials also discussed future upgrades needed at the fire department. Trustees noted overhead doors may eventually need to be replaced due to the height of newer engines.
Under Trustee reports, officials stated grass had been seeded near the township salt shed and blocks were placed along the edge to help prevent future salt runoff. Quotes will be gathered for the removal of a dead tree at the fire department.
With no further business, the meeting adjourned.
