Man Killed In Accident At Pettisville Grain Company

An accident that took place at the Pettisville Grain Company, located at 18251 County Road DE, has left one man dead.

According to a press release put out by Wauseon Fire Chief Phil Kessler, the call was received at 8:21 a.m. on Wednesday, November 9th.

The Wauseon Fire Department responded to the scene and immediately requested resources from the Archbold Fire Department and Morenci Fire Department in order to have more manpower and equipment to help in the confined space grain rescue.


Once on scene, more resources were called upon from the Gerald Grain Company and the Ridgeville Fire Department. The confined space incident was then terminated at 12:30 p.m.

The statement also states that the Wauseon Fire Department would like to thank all of the agencies and their responders who helped to provide assistance and support during the incident.

Additional agencies and community members not mentioned above are the Pettisville Grain Company, Fulton County Sheriff’s Department, Clinton Township, the Pettisville Community, and Rivello McDonald’s.

According to the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department, the deceased individual was identified as Neil Rupp, age 66.


The Pettisville Grain Company’s website has Neil Rupp listed as co-owner of the business since 2003 when it was sold.

At this time, an investigation is ongoing into what led up to the accident.
