Marian Dreher (1927 – 2025)

Marian E. Dreher, 97, of Bryan passed away Thursday, January 9, 2025 at Hillside Country Living in Bryan.

She was born on February 6, 1927 in Montpelier to Loren R. and Minnie E. (Grimm) Rosenberry.

Marian graduated from Bryan High School in 1945, and six months later married the love of her life, Cletus “Pete” E. Dreher on December 1, 1945 in Angola, Indiana.

Education was very important to Marian, she went back to get her post-secondary schooling at Bowling Green State University, receiving her Bachelors of Science degree in the early 1960’s.

She went on to teach 1st and 2nd grades in the Montpelier Exempted Village School District. She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Bryan since 1940. Marian was also a member of the Fortnightly Study Club, Top of Ohio Doll Club and the Williams County Retired Teachers Association.

She is survived by her son Todd (Julia) Dreher of Spartanburg, South Carolina; eight grandchildren Toni Callan, Kelli Dreher, Kara Custar, Hillary Moore, Hannah Mouch, Hope Vukcevich, Anastaia Doran and Uri Dreher; eight great grandchildren Josie Callan, Jack Callan, Kendyl Moore, Parker Moore, Cletus Carver, Brady Doran, Ellie Vukcevich and Penelope Doran.

Marian was preceded in death by her parents, husband “Pete,” son Dean K. Dreher on May 25, 2007, and grandson Peter R. Dreher on January 1, 1986.

Visitation hours for Marian will be on Wednesday, January 15th from 11am-12pm at the Thompson Funeral Home in Montpelier. Services will follow at 12pm at the funeral home with Reverend Steve Rath to officiate. Interment will follow at Shiffler Cemetery in Bryan.

Memorial contributions may be given to Wesley United Methodist Church or the Williams County Humane Society. Condolences can be left for the family at www.thethompsonfuneralhome.com.
