Unemployment numbers for the month of May 2024 have been released by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. Numbers for both Fulton and Williams County show an increase in unemployment from the month of April.
As previously reported by The Village Reporter, the month of April showed Fulton County at 4.3% unemployment and Williams County at 3.8% unemployment. For the month of May, numbers increased to 4.6% for Fulton County and 4.3% for Williams County.
Several other local counties in Northwest Ohio also experienced an increase during this time frame. As for the State of Ohio, numbers changed from 4.2% in April to 4.6% in May.
Numbers also saw a slight increase for the country as a whole, going from 3.5% in April to 3.7% in May.
