The Village of Metamora continued with their long-standing tradition of Christmas Parades this year. The parade of lights took place on Sunday, December 15th at 5:30 p.m.
The event began downtown with the Evergreen Young Vikings Choir performing out in front of the Metamora State Bank.
Then, at 5:30 p.m. the parade commenced, with the Evergreen Marching Band stopping in front of the bank to perform a song.
It was at that time that Band Director Chris Lyons was given a proclamation by the Village of Metamora for his outstanding support for the community and the Evergreen District, along with his participation in numerous community events. The proclamation bestowed upon Mr. Lyons the title of honorary citizen of Metamora.
The parade then began once more and saw that all the children waiting along the street received candy.
After the parade, residents were invited to the Metamora-Amboy Fire Department to take part in a meet-and-greet with Santa Claus.
