Welcoming New Members
The Chamber proudly introduced its two newest members: the Fulton County Economic Development Committee (FCEDC) and Bloponian Studios. These additions reflect the Chamber’s commitment to fostering growth and collaboration in the community.
Business Spotlights
Fulton County Economic Development Committee (FCEDC): Kate Huiskens introduced Jim Wyse as the new Executive Director of the FCEDC. Wyse shared insights into his background in government and private ventures, emphasizing the organization’s dedication to attracting new businesses to Fulton County.
He also highlighted the availability of small business grants and reminded attendees of the upcoming Annual Awards Banquet on April 24. Metamora Area Historical Society: The Historical Society, founded in 2004 by 15 Metamora High School alumni, recently completed the renovation of the Rice Duncan House, which now serves as a museum. Upcoming events include: •Spring Tea (April 26): Sold out. •Vintage Wedding Dress Exhibit (July). •Open Door Event (September). •Fall Tea (October, date TBA). •Christmas Decorations (November and December). Annual membership dues are $10.
Guest Speaker: Fulton County Visitor’s Bureau
Julie Bring of the Fulton County Visitor’s Bureau (FCVB) spoke about their efforts to promote the area in collaboration with the FCEDC.
She congratulated Metamora for its outstanding participation in the Fulton County 175th Birthday Party and shared updates on the America 250 celebrations planned for 2026, which will feature monthly themes and events.
Community Updates and Announcements
•Party in the Park (June 13 15): Planning is underway, and volunteers are needed to help with various tasks. •Spring Clean-Up (April 26): Volunteers gathered at the park at 8:45 AM. Students participating had the opportunity to earn scholarships with adult supervision.
The next Chamber meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, July 16, at the Metamora Community Park. The meeting will feature a cookout dinner and a presentation by Regional Planning.
The meeting concluded with a motion to adjourn by Marianne Gleckler, seconded by Gary Loar, with unanimous approval. Attendees were invited to view samples from Bloponian Studios after the meeting.
