The Metamora Village Council held their meeting on Tuesday, January 16th. The meeting began at 8 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Council began by having a new member of council, Leann Miller, being sworn in. Next, council moved to approve the minutes from the previous meeting, paying of the bills, as well as payment for travel for new council members to go to a newly elected seminar.

Then, council discussed sunshine law training and outside committees. Next, council discussed the solar eclipse stating that they have word about Fulton County Fairgrounds camping spots and Sauder’s campground and Heritage Inn being completely booked for the solar eclipse.

The village is in talks about sending out a cautious message to everyone and possibly buying glasses for those that want to go to the park and watch the eclipse.

Council then moved to approve Ordinance 2024-01 to increase funds to $1400 for OH Ship shipping fees and Ordinance 2024-02 to create a 3901 fund and move funds.

Next, Mayor Cathy Mossing asked for a volunteer for Emergency Management Agency and Regional Planning meetings. John Pupos volunteered for EMA with Gary Loar and Leann Miller volunteering to split regional planning meetings.

Then, council heard a zoning report from Zoning Inspector Jeff Pawlaczyk. With nothing else left to discuss, council moved to adjourn at 9:02 p.m. The next regular meeting is scheduled for Monday, February 5th at 7:00 p.m.
