The Metamora Village Council held their meeting on Tuesday, February 22nd at 8:00 p.m. The meeting was called to order followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

Council first moved to approve the minutes from the previous meeting which took place on February 7th.

Reading of the bills took place next with council moving to approve and pay the bills as presented. Moving to personnel and finance, Cathy Mossing made a motion to approve the Second Reading of Ordinance 2022-02.

The Ordinance allows for the replacement of Al Lehenbauer and Yvonne Trevino for the purpose of hiring Kevin Whitlock as the Village Solicitor and Prosecutor. The motion for a change of counsel was approved.

Mossing then moved to increase the office supply expense line #A01-7-X-241-00 by $1,000.00. This was seconded by council member John Pupos and approved by council.

Mossing moved to suspend the rules for Ordinance 2022-03 to hire Anthony Jagodzinski as Maintenance Supervisor and Kyle Condon as Maintenance. This was Seconded by Pupos and approved by council followed by council moving to approve the Ordinance as well.

Continuing, Mossing recommended that council accept Rick Meiring’s resignation as the Sewer Operator of Record. Again, this was seconded by Pupos and approved by council.

Mossing moved to have the rules suspended for Ordinance 2022-04 to hire Mikael Stiles as the Sewer Operator of Record at a rate of $700.00 per month.

This was seconded by Pupos and approved by council followed by council moving to approve the Ordinance.

Council was then informed that the Chamber of Commerce would like to do the Park O Rama on June 10th and 11th.

With the community garage sale usually being that weekend, council moved to change the garage sale date to June 25th.

It was then stated that the village needs to work out the details with The Chamber of Commerce as they take over the Park O Rama. To do that, some council members will plan on attending the next Chamber meeting to discuss this.

Council then moved to hear recommendations as part of the Lands and Building Report. Council was informed that the 2022 Stapleton Insurance policy needs to be signed by April.

Pupos stated that he would like Anthony Jagodzinski to take inventory of the items in the shop to make sure everything is included on the policy.

It was then stated that an ordinance needs to be passed no later than April 29 for the ODOT bridge project on SR 120 and that copies were sent to Robbie Anderzack for review before passing an ordinance.

It was then recommended to have Jim Bernath do spray patching this spring or early summer and that the village could use the county auto permissive money for this project.

The need to pass an ordinance entering into agreement with CT Consultants to do smoke testing on the sewer lines was then discussed.

Council agreed to have Kevin Whitlock look over the agreement before moving forward.

The village sent a letter to a property owner on Maple Street asking to see the structural engineers report that was done on his building.

The property owner provided the information requested which will be looked over and discussed at the next meeting. The property owner did request that the village does not move to condemn the building.

In old business, Adam Vance declined to be on the Zoning Appeals Board. Council will review other candidates to see if there is anyone else who may be interested.

In new business, it was recommended to have Habitec Security come out to reprogram the systems due to it not being updated in a while.

Moving to the Fiscal Officers report, Heather Lumbrezer informed council that The Union Home Mortgage Corp vs. Ryan D. Lowe was for income tax.

Heather Lumbrezer stated that she contacted the attorney’s office asking them to send in a satisfaction of judgement and release his garnishment.

Heather also let council know that Kim, from the Chamber of Commerce, invited council members to their next meeting, which is Tuesday, March 8th at 5:30 p.m.

Also, Transtar will be doing the electrical repairs to the office basement Thursday, February 24th and Friday, February 25.

The office will be closed these days due to no power while they are working. With no further business, council moved to adjourn at 8:43 p.m.
