Millcreek-West Unity Board of Education Gives Approval to Proceed With Renewal Levy

CaptureMillcreek-West Unity Schools Board of Education met Monday, December 10 to conduct their regular monthly meeting. On the docket was a resolution giving the district the go-ahead for submission of a Renewal Tax Levy. The levy does not represent “new” money. It replaces the school’s current levy which expires in 2013.
The board passed the resolution which will now be submitted for inclusion on the May ballot.
In other action the board approved FMLA leave for Debbie Nixon retroactive to November 27, 2012. Joan Connolly, Marion Coon and Katie Frey were approved as substitute teachers and Jaymes Zachrich was moved to the Masters Salary Schedule to begin February 1, 2013. The board accepted a donation of $915 from Midwest Community Health Associates to the Athletic Department.
A final reading of updates and deletions to the School’s Policy was tabled until the January meeting. The board will hold its organizational meeting on January 7, 2013 at 6 PM in the High School Band Room. The organizational meeting will be followed by the regular January monthly meeting. Ron Baker was appointed by the board to serve as President Pro-Tem for the organizational meeting.
The board moved into executive session for discussion of a legal matter. With no action taken, the meeting was adjorned.
The next meeting of the Millcreek-West Unity Board of Education will be January 7, 2013 at 6 PM in the Band Room.
