West Unity’s very own reigning Queen is crowned Pure American Pageants 2014 Miss Teen Ohio State. On March 23, 2014, Kaylista Underwood competed at the State Pageant in Columbus, Ohio, in which she won the title of Miss Teen Ohio State. Kaylista competed in modeling, personal introduction, talent and personal interview. Kaylista placed in talent and won the overall crown for Miss Teen Ohio State; blessing her with the opportunity to compete at Nationals on July 8-13 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Pure American Pageants is a Christian based pageant system which competes on a national level. Kaylista currently resides in West Unity, Ohio with her mother, Mishelle Hall and her younger sister, Madisyn Underwood. Kaylista attends Hilltop High School, where she is just finished her sophomore year. Kaylista has been elected the Junior Class Vice President, in addition to being an academic award winner and honor roll recipient. Kaylista is also active in volleyball, softball, and choir. She enjoys attending youth group, spending time with her family and friends, and participating in pageants. Someday she hopes to be Miss Ohio and compete in the Miss America Pageant. Until then, Kaylista’s future goals include going to Ohio State University and studying Psychology. After which she hopes to get married and start a family.
Kaylista will be giving away her title as “Miss West Unity” on Friday June 6, 2014 at the 2014 Miss West Unity Pageant. Said pageant will be held at 8:00 p.m. at the Hilltop High School. Tickets are $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for students. Kaylista would like to thank all of her amazing family and friends for their love and support.
