The comforting scent of a home-cooked meal filled the air at the Family Life Center on Wednesday, May 21, as Fayette residents gathered for the town’s monthly community meal.
This event is long cherished by locals and hosted by several churches in the area. This month’s menu featured pulled pork sandwiches, pasta salad, mashed potatoes, and an assortment of homemade desserts. Served fresh and free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis.
Held every third Wednesday of the month at 5:00 p.m., the meal provides a warm atmosphere where neighbors can connect and care for one another. Attendance varies through the seasons, but staff serves the community with kind, smiling faces.
As pots were emptied and dessert trays dwindled, the spirit of generosity remained full reminding everyone in attendance that sometimes the simplest gestures make the biggest difference.
